The Premier League kicks off and Viaplay expands international studio
This past weekend, the English Premier League kicked off with the first round of matches. The league is the home of many high-profile Nordic players, and the interest for the league is high throughout the region. Premier league holds an exceptional strong position in Norway, which Mediavision’s senior analyst Adrian Grande wrote an op-ed about in Medier24 last week, which you can read here.

Viaplay holds the rights to the Premier League throughout the Nordics and does so until 2028, when the current contract expires. During last season, Viaplay launched the international studio program Viaplay Premier Sunday with presenter Jules Breach and experts Fredrik Ljungberg, Peter Schmeichel and Jaap Stam. During last season, ten episodes were broadcast across Viaplay’s all markets.
This season, Viaplay Premier Sunday is being expanded to 20 programs, thereby doubling last year’s number of broadcasts. Each broadcast includes pre-match talk, half-time analysis and post-match talk live from the stadium, as well as interviews with players and coaches immediately after the match.

Nordisk Film+ raises prices and launches new features
The Danish streaming service Nordisk Film+ is raising its price. The price increase was announced during the summer holidays and takes effect this month. The monthly price rises from DKK 59 to DKK 69 – unless you switch to a half-year or an annual subscription, then the price remains the same. In connection with the price rise, some new features have been added, and more are on the way.
“From August 2025, the price of a monthly subscription will change to DKK 69. The price is increasing by DKK 10 because the costs of running Nordisk Film+ have gone up, and because we continue to invest in giving you the best experience,” Nordisk Film writes.
The last price increase from Nordisk Film+ was in September 2023, from DKK 49 to DKK 59 per month. Nordisk Film+ states that the price of half-year and annual subscriptions will remain the same. The latter cost DKK 590 per year.
In connection with the price increase, Nordisk Film+ has added new content to the service such as bonus material with outtakes, interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories from Danish films, as well as music videos from Danish films have also been added. Additionally, users can now choose their own start page, access a new genre overview, and use an improved search page.
Soon, Nordisk Film+ will also launch a live channel with Danish films around the clock. The company also announces that more films will come with subtitles going forward.

Meta provides more performance insights for creators
Meta has announced an update to its Professional Dashboard. The platform gives creators a management overview, with key performance insights and tools to help maximize reach and monetize content.
Until now, the dashboard has mainly been in-app. With this update, all the same features and tools will also be available on the web — in a redesigned version.
The refreshed web version of the dashboard includes an improved home feed layout, as well as simplified navigation so you can get to the insights you need most.
“Most creators access the mobile version within the Facebook app, but sometimes web is preferable, like when you want a larger screen for better visibility or need to complete more intensive tasks. We’ve listened to creators’ feedback and are updating the web experience for professional dashboard with creators in mind,” Meta writes.

Meta’s Facebook and Instagram are two of the most popular platforms to watch social video on in the Nordics. Together, the two services capture nearly half of all social video viewing in the Nordics. When combined, the Meta services surpass the most popular platform Tiktok’s total share of viewing. This is presented in Mediavision’s new analysis on Ad-funded online video in the Nordics.
The analysis offers an in-depth look at the rapidly growing and increasingly competitive market of ad-funded online video. It provides valuable insights into how online video is consumed, how behavior varies across age groups, and much more. For more information, contact anton.ljung@mediavision.se.
